| WELCOME | |
Dear Colleagues, It is with great pleasure that I invite you to the 2nd Annual Colorectal Disease Symposium in Tokyo. The overwhelming success of the first symposium, held in the Ginza in June 2006 led to the overwhelming request for a second symposium. This second program will again be chaired by Professor Yasunobu Tsujinaka and has used the identical format as used during the annual international colorectal disease symposium, which I have hosted for the last 18 years in Florida. The topics and faculty were again selected based upon a needs assessment of key thought leading Asian colorectal and general surgeons. The in-depth discussion of new and controversial topics in large measure will focus upon rectal carcinoma and functional disorders. Each session will be followed by a highly interactive panel discussion. All of the topics presented will be immediately useful in clinical practice in Asia and have been selected to focus upon the diagnoses and procedures most commonly seen in Japan and the surrounding countries. The extensive audience participation is a unique asset of the course which plays upon both the expertise of the speaker and the in-depth fund of knowledge of the highly qualified registrants. As such, the speakers have been selected from two groups; one of which are some of our most accomplished Cleveland Clinic Florida Department of Colorectal Surgery Asian alumni, and the second group are key thought leaders throughout Asia. Along with these experts, the symposium Chairman, Professor Tsujinaka, and I will ensure a thorough comprehensive evaluation of all topics. The most vigorous standards will be used to insure optimal education of each registrant. It would be my great pleasure to personally welcome you to our 2nd Annual Colorectal Disease Symposium in Tokyo at JiJi Press Hall in Tokyo Ginza on Saturday, June 16, 2007. |
